Uvalde police, college district not cooperating with Texas probe of capturing: Sources

The Uvalde Police Department and the Uvalde Impartial College District police power are not cooperating with the Texas Department of Public Security's investigation into the massacre at Robb Elementary College and the state's review of the legislation enforcement response, multiple regulation enforcement sources inform ABC Information.

The Uvalde police chief and a spokesperson for the Uvalde Unbiased Faculty District did not instantly respond to requests for comment from ABC News.

In line with sources, the decision to stop cooperating occurred soon after the director of DPS, Col. Steven McCraw, held a news convention Friday throughout which he stated the delayed police entry into the classroom was "the improper decision" and opposite to protocol.

Reached by ABC Information, a spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety stated, "The Uvalde Police Division and Uvalde CISD Police have been cooperating with investigators. The chief of the Uvalde CISD Police offered an initial interview however has not responded to a request for a follow-up interview with the Texas Rangers that was made two days in the past."

Last Tuesday's assault, one of the worst college shootings in U.S. history, left 19 kids and two adults dead.
