Uvalde police, faculty district now not cooperating with Texas probe of capturing: Sources

The Uvalde Police Department and the Uvalde Independent Faculty District police power are now not cooperating with the Texas Department of Public Security's investigation into the massacre at Robb Elementary Faculty and the state's assessment of the regulation enforcement response, a number of legislation enforcement sources tell ABC Information.

The Uvalde police chief and a spokesperson for the Uvalde Independent Faculty District did not immediately respond to requests for remark from ABC Information.

In response to sources, the choice to stop cooperating occurred soon after the director of DPS, Col. Steven McCraw, held a news convention Friday throughout which he mentioned the delayed police entry into the classroom was "the improper determination" and opposite to protocol.

Reached by ABC Information, a spokesperson for the Texas Division of Public Safety stated, "The Uvalde Police Department and Uvalde CISD Police have been cooperating with investigators. The chief of the Uvalde CISD Police supplied an initial interview but has not responded to a request for a follow-up interview with the Texas Rangers that was made two days in the past."
