Speaking in the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I don't plan on popping out for the anthem going forward until I feel higher about the direction of our nation."

In a weblog publish, Kapler questioned whether or not the nation's leadership is committed to representing its people's greatest interests and whether or not america is actually "the land of the free and the house of the brave."

"I am not okay with the state of this nation. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I may have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that if you're dissatisfied together with your nation, you let it be known by way of protest. The home of the brave ought to encourage this."

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an impassioned plea to take stronger motion in opposition to gun violence in the USA.

Kerr refused to talk about basketball ahead of Game 4 of the Warriors' series against the Dallas Mavericks, as an alternative raising his voice as he railed in opposition to gun violence in the wake of Tuesday's taking pictures.

"Within the last 10 days, we have had aged Black individuals killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we have had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we have kids murdered at school," Kerr instructed reporters at the beginning of the press conference.

"When are we going to do one thing? I'm tired. I am so uninterested in getting up right here and providing condolences to the devastated households which are out there ... I'm uninterested in the moments of silence. Enough."
