Speaking in the dugout of the Nice American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler said, "I don't plan on coming out for the anthem going ahead until I really feel better about the direction of our nation."

I wish that I may have demonstrated what I discovered from my dad, that once you're dissatisfied along with your country, you let it's recognized via protest. The house of the courageous ought to encourage this."

"When are we going to do something? I'm drained. I am so uninterested in getting up here and providing condolences to the devastated families which are out there ... I am bored with the moments of silence. Sufficient."
