LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC/Grey News) - An incident that concerned gamers from a university’s lacrosse workforce and deputies in Georgia remains under investigation.

WTOC reviews Delaware State College President Tony Allen released a press release on Monday responding to the incident that reportedly occurred on April 20 in Liberty County.

Allen wrote Georgia legislation enforcement stopped a bus for a minor traffic violation with the Delaware State Lacrosse staff on board. Deputies searched the belongings of the student-athletes, including suitcases with drug-sniffing canines.

“100% you can’t be in that left lane at all,” stated a Liberty County Sheriff’s Deputy.

The group was returning residence from a recreation in Florida and traveling by a contracted bus, according to Allen.

Liberty County Sheriff William Bowman held a news conference in regards to the incident but took no questions. He claimed that no personal gadgets on the bus were searched.

Body digicam video obtained by WTOC, nonetheless, clearly confirmed the deputies going by means of the scholars’ luggage and even treatment.

The university president wrote in his assertion that movies taken by players showed regulation enforcement trying to intimidate them into confessing to possession of drugs and/or drug paraphernalia.

“They didn’t really ask us,” said Sydney Anderson, a Delaware State Lacrosse Participant. “They knowledgeable us of what they’re gonna do and nobody questioned them...we simply let them rattle by our stuff.”

A player on the bus asked: “How did we go from being within the improper lane to going by our luggage?”

A deputy responded: “Well, he stopped y’all, he didn’t cease y’all for a visitors violation...he stopped the motive force for a traffic violation.”

Nothing unlawful was found in the search, and Allen informed the public that he has contacted Delaware’s governor, the Black Caucus and different state officials.

Allen wrote that everybody was incensed over the incident.

Allen also added the following:

“We don't intend to let this or some other incident like it cross idly by. We're ready to go wherever the evidence leads us. We have video. We now have allies. Perhaps more considerably, now we have the courage of our convictions.”

Allen concluded his assertion by writing, “We'll by no means be bullied into believing anything aside from what we are: People, learners, lecturers, builders—helpful and honorable folks ready to soar.”
