A California district lawyer declined to file expenses Tuesday against former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson after he was recorded on video in a bodily altercation with one other passenger on a JetBlue flight.

San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe made the choice after having reviewed police studies and movies of the April 20 incident. Each the passenger, who has not been identified, and Tyson requested that no prices be filed.

"Yesterday afternoon the San Mateo County District Lawyer’s Workplace concluded its assessment of the case involving Mike Tyson on the San Francisco Airport on April 20, 2022 and the allegation that he dedicated a misdemeanor battery against one other passenger on an airplane while waiting at the terminal prior to departure," Wagstaffe said in a press release.

"Our resolution is that we will not file any costs against Mr. Tyson primarily based on the circumstances surrounding the confrontation. These include the conduct of the victim main up to the incident, the interplay between Mr. Tyson and the victim, in addition to the requests of both the victim and Mr. Tyson that no charges be filed in this case," Wagstaffe said.

The case is now closed.

Cellphone video confirmed Tyson, 55, appearing to attempt to punch somebody who was pushing him away. Representatives for Tyson stated the particular person was harassing Tyson. The video didn't present what happened before the altercation.

David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Martin Sabelli, attorneys for Tyson, responded to the decision to not file prices by thanking Wagstaffe, the San Mateo County sheriff and legislation enforcement businesses "for their careful, diligent, and professional work."
