Teen arrested after mother noticed son had gun at Texas school drop-off

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD/Gray News) - Several agencies responded to a center faculty in Texas Friday morning after a teen’s mother observed he was carrying a gun.
Police in Lubbock inform KCBD a mom was dropping off her 15-year-old son at O.L. Slaton Middle Faculty around 9 a.m. when she noticed the firearm. The teenager by no means made it contained in the building, and he ran from the school.
The Lubbock Police Division responded to the area together with several other businesses in an attempt to find him.
The teen was found close to the college’s campus and taken into custody.
Authorities said the 15-year-old could possibly be dealing with a felony weapons charge.
Police say there was no risk made to the college or anyone inside the college.
O.L. Slaton Middle College was briefly placed on lockout on account of the incident.
