DALLAS - The excessive court will permit a wrongful death lawsuit to proceed against town of Dallas and 4 police officers.

The household of a person who died in police custody in 2016 sued.

Tony Timpa known as police for help as he had a drug and psychological health crisis.

The city fought against releasing body digicam video and whit it did come out it was obvious why. It confirmed the officers mocking the dying man.

One had his knee on Timpa’s back and neck for almost quarter-hour and the health worker mentioned that contributed to his dying.

The city of Dallas argued the officers are legally protected against lawsuits.

The Supreme Courtroom upheld a federal appeals court docket’s ruling that can permit the case to proceed.

"The decision means that the case can proceed to trial and that there will probably be no extra delays from any appellate courtroom. Additionally, the choice implies that the Fifth Circuit did it proper that their ruling regarding lethal pressure will be the law of the land no less than in Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana for as long as we all know," stated Geoff Henley, an attorney for Timpa’s household.

These are the states lined by the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruling allowing the suit to proceed.

Three years in the past, the Dallas district attorney dropped felony fees against three of the officers.
