Investigators believe Mtula Payton was one of many alleged gang members who opened hearth in downtown Sacramento on April 3. He was taken into custody at an residence complicated, the Sacramento Police Department stated in a statement Saturday night.

“Las Vegas Metro Police Department worked with our detectives for weeks in an effort to find Payton,” the statement said.

Payton and two others, brothers Smiley Martin and Dandrae Martin, had been charged this month with homicide in the slayings, in addition to weapons offenses.
