A Florida decide on Wednesday struck down a portion of a redistricting map drawn by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and his workers.
Driving the information: "I am finding that the enacted map is unconstitutional underneath the Honest District modification ... as a result of it diminishes African People' skill to elect the representatives of their selection," Leon County Circuit Choose Layne Smith mentioned.
Smith is predicted to issue a proper order on Thursday or Friday to ensure that the maps aren't in impact throughout November's election, AP reviews.Why it issues: DeSantis' plan dismantles the North Florida seat now held by a Black Democrat.
