800 workers resign after company asks them to work from office

Because the Covid scenario has improved, several firms have already referred to as their staff to workplace, ending the work at home (WFH).

Nevertheless, it appears some workers wish to earn a living from home further. Lately, a whole lot of staff have resigned when an organization asked them to return to the office.

Over 800 WhiteHat Jr employees have resigned from the children on-line coding studying edtech start-up within the final two months after being asked to work from workplace.

This comes after WhiteHat Jr, a platform which was acquired by BYJU’S in 2020, asked its staff to return to office within a month’s time, in response to an Inc42 report.

On March 18, the corporate announced the policy to end work at home and requested distant employees to return to office by April 18.

The resignations came from full-time workers of the gross sales, coding, and math teams. Extra employees are expected to put down their papers in the coming months.

One of the staff who resigned advised the web site that a month’s time was not sufficient for relocation. “Some have youngsters, some have aged and sick mother and father, while others produce other duties. It isn't proper to name again staff in such a short period of time,” the former WhiteHat Jr worker said.

One other worker stated salaries also factored within the decision to not return to the workplace. On the time of hiring, workers have been instructed about their job location – WhiteHat Jr has workplaces in Gurugram, Mumbai and Bengaluru. However, after working from house for two years, staff believed that their salaries ought to be revised to reflect the price of living in expensive cities.

“This was a well-planned and managed layoff that WhiteHat Jr did,” a former employee remarked.
